Before you start

Is oBot for Ikariam free? New

Mostly yes. Free: attack alarm, economy warnings, the alert when the bot stops, automatic re-entry from the lobby, empire overview, daily gifts of the first week, daily login bonus, Telegram link, log and a build queue of 2 upgrades per town. Premium (same packages as oBot for OGame): unlimited queue with new buildings, automatic development with goals, automatic citizens, research, ships and army, barbarian village pillage. Every new account gets a few trial days.

Which servers does it work on?

On the official Ikariam servers (addresses *.ikariam.gameforge.com), in any game language. The bot panel is in Italian and English for now.

Which browsers are supported?

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox on desktop, with the Tampermonkey extension. On Chrome you must turn on the extensions developer mode. Mobile browsers are not supported.

Can I get banned?

Using any bot is against the Ikariam rules, so a risk always exists and you use oBot at your own risk. The bot runs in your browser, in your normal game session, and only does what you could do by hand.

Do I need to sign up?

No. The first time you open the game with the script installed, the bot creates your oBot account by itself, tied to your player and server.

Everyday use

Does the bot work with the browser closed?

No. The bot lives inside the game tab: an Ikariam tab must be open, even in the background.

The bot stopped for hours: why? New

Almost always because the tab was frozen: Chrome freezes background tabs (Memory Saver and Energy Saver) and a frozen page runs nothing; the same happens when the PC goes to sleep. To avoid it: keep the game tab in its own window (not among other tabs), in Chrome Settings, under Performance, add the Ikariam site to Memory Saver's «Always keep these sites active» and turn Energy Saver off, and do not let the PC sleep. Then switch on «Tell me on Telegram if the bot stops» in the Alarms tab: if the bot is silent for more than an hour the server tells you. When the tab comes back after more than 10 minutes of stop, the bot also writes it in the log.

I have several Ikariam tabs open: do they all work?

No, only one works (the «leader tab»): so the same building never starts twice and the same alarm never arrives twice. If you close or reload it, another tab takes its place.

Why does the queue not start?

Check that «Build queue active» is on and saved, and read the «What it is doing» box in the Buildings tab: it says whether the construction site is busy, resources are missing, the game does not allow the upgrade or an item is waiting for premium. Without premium the bot works only on the first 2 upgrades of every town and does not build new buildings.

Can the queue build new buildings? New

Yes, with premium: in the Buildings tab every free plot has a menu with the buildings the game allows there. With automatic development on, the bot builds the missing basic buildings by itself. Without premium the queue only upgrades existing buildings.

Which goal should I pick for automatic development? New

At the start «New colony»: the bot builds the Palace as soon as possible, goes straight for the Expansion research and, once the Palace is built, saves the gold you need (9,000 for the first one). After the colony the goal switches to «Population» by itself; set «New colony» again for the next one, or «Production» if you are short of resources. Remember to switch on Citizens and Research too: the goal decides how they work, but their tabs must be on.

Why does my gold not grow? New

Scientists cost gold and workers pay no taxes: only free citizens pay 3 gold per hour. In the Citizens tab raise the «Minimum gold per hour» or choose the «more production» priority; with the New colony goal the bot works out the minimum. With New colony, before the Palace, gold above 1,500 is spent on purpose on scientists and workers.

Automatic development skips buildings «because the town does not produce marble»: what do I do? New

If none of your towns produces that resource (all on the same island of another luxury good), neither transports nor production can bring it: the bot skips the building for 6 hours and picks another one. Build a <b>Trading Post</b> and switch on <b>Trading Post market</b> in the Ships tab: the bot places a buy offer for what is missing, also buys from the sell offers of other players, and removes its offer when it is no longer needed. For the future, found the next colony on an island of that good.

Do I lose the queue if I reinstall the script?

No. Queue and settings are stored on the oBot server, tied to your game account: you find them again after a reinstall or on another computer.

Can the bot panel be in a different language than the server?

Yes: in the Home choose <b>Bot language</b>. The default is the server language; the choice applies to the panel, the log and the Telegram messages.

What do the ready-made profiles change?

They set every automation for a play style (Expansion, Economy, Raiding, Careful), with numbers taken from your account. Before saving you see what changes; <b>Undo profile</b> puts back the previous settings.

Does the bot move resources between my towns?

Only when a queued building of a town is blocked by a missing resource, and only what it lacks, from a town that has it to spare. The option is in the <b>Ships</b> page (premium).

Telegram

Can I use the same Telegram chat as for OGame?

Yes. The Ikariam token is different from the OGame one, but you can send both to the same chat: you will get the alerts of both games.

The alarm does not reach me on Telegram

In the Telegram tab press «Check link» and then «Send a test message». If the message arrives, check in the Alarms tab that «Alert on Telegram too» (or «Economy warnings on Telegram too») is on and saved.
